uma aldeia humilde no Argentina profunda e, desses anos em que viveu na sua aldeia trás  enraizados o seu apego pelas expressões artísticas e populares. grupo de amigas que  Mercedes participasse num &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;certame&lt;/span&gt; organizado pela &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;LV&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;12 de &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;Tucumán&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;, sob o pseudónimo de &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;Gladys&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; Osório, e viesse a ganhar o primeiro prémio que consistia num contrato por dois meses na emissora local.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span  lang="ES-AR" style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Era o principio de tudo.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Uma década depois, os revezes dos tempos e dos gostos trouxeram a música folclórica à ribalta e o nome de Mercedes &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;Sosa&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; estava conotado com o canto popular, como integrante do Movimento do Novo Cancioneiro, uma renovada corrente do folclore que entretanto surgira na província de &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;Mendoza&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; e que se propunha colocar de lado as modas passageiras, para tomar o seu lugar na vida quotidiana do homem argentino, com as suas alegrias e as suas tristezas.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Entre os artistas fundadores e promotores deste movimento encontravam-se Armando &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"&gt;Tejada&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"&gt;Gómez&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;, Manuel Óscar &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"&gt;Matus&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; e Tito &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_10"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8"&gt;Francia&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;As suas atitudes artísticas e pessoais foram surpreender um público que estava acostumado a outras coisas.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Juntamente com o seu marido Manuel &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_11"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9"&gt;Oscar&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_12"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_10"&gt;Matus&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; fizeram concertos na Universidade.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span  lang="ES" style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_13"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_11"&gt;Matus&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;, através de uma editora independente lança o primeiro disco de Mercedes &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_14"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_12"&gt;Sosa&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; intitulado &lt;i style=""&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_15"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_13"&gt;Canciones&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_16"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_14"&gt;con&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; fundamento&lt;/i&gt;.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Por causa dessa opção, &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_17"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_15"&gt;Sosa&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; teve que esperar vários anos até conseguir o reconhecimento do publico, reconhecimento esse que chegou com o Festival Nacional de &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_18"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_16"&gt;Folklore&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; de &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_19"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_17"&gt;Cosquín&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;, em 1965 quando, graças à generosidade do cantor Jorge &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_20"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_18"&gt;Cafrune&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;, todo o país pode conhecer aquela maravilhosa cantora argentina.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Ficou assim registado o marco do nascimento da grande artista popular que sempre o mereceu ser e que hoje é aclamada por esse mundo fora.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; font-family: arial;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;Em 1970 estreia-se como actriz no filme “El Santo de la Espada” de Leopoldo torre Nilsson e deu a conhecer dois dos discos mais importantes da sua carreira “El grito de la tierra” e “Navidad com Mercedes Sosa”.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; font-family: arial;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;É durante este período que grava, entre outras coisas, &lt;i style=""&gt;“Canción com todos”&lt;/i&gt; e &lt;i style=""&gt;“Cuando tenga tierra”&lt;/i&gt; de Ariel Petrocelli e Daniel Toro e também a belíssima &lt;i style=""&gt;“La Navidad de Juanito Laguna”&lt;/i&gt; de Cuchi Leguizamón e Manuel Castilla.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; font-family: arial;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;Em 1971 nasce “La voz de Mercedes Sosa” e a seguir “Homenaje a Violeta Parra”, disco esse que reuniu quase uma dúzia de temas da grande cantora popular chilena.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; e &lt;b&gt;&lt;i style=""&gt;“Traigo un pueblo en mi voz”&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt; surgiram em 1973, o ano da tão esperada democracia e pronuncio de uma época difícil.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Mercedes Sosa continuará com na mesma linha do seu trabalho anterior.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Em 1975 é editado &lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;“A que florezca mi pueblo”.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Em 1976, um ano crucial para a Argentina, é editado &lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Mercedes Sosa”&lt;/span&gt; um trabalho para o qual vai buscar poetas argentinos e latino americanos tais como os chilenos Victor Jara e Pablo Neruda, a peruana Alicia Maguiña e o cubano Ignacio Villa “Bola de Nieve”.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;No ano seguinte, 1977, “La negra” presta homenagem a uma das maiores cantoras e compositoras populares argentinas no disco  &lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Mercedes Sosa interpreta Atahualpa Yupanqui”.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Entretanto o clima que se vivia no país era cada vez mais opressivo.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Em 1979 surge &lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Serenata para la tierra de uno”&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Ainda a violência que sacudia o país ia a meio e Mercedes Sosa ia cantando a vida.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;O cerco em torno da cantora, devido aos seus manifestos musicais, levaram-na ao exílio e acabou por ser detida na cidade de La Plata juntamente com todo o público que a tinha ido ver a sua actuação. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Nesse ano intalar-se-à em Paris e em 1980 muda-se para Madrid.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Na teoria Mercedes Sosa podia entrar e sair do país pois não havia nenhum processo judicial contra ela contudo, não podia cantar.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Para Mercedes Sosa este foi um castigo dobrado e bastante cruel, para ela e para todos os argentinos.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;O regime militar por esta altura tinha começado a agonizar e aproveitando esse facto, La mecha deu cerca de uma dúzia de concertos no Teatro Opera de Buenos Aires.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Com estas actuações tão esperadas, Mercedes não só se reencontrou com o seu público de sempre como também teve a seus pés, milhares de jovens que desde então se renderam também eles ao seu ídolo.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Desses treze concertos realizados no Teatro Ópera saiu o duplo LP &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"&gt;“Mercedes &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold; &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;Gieco&lt;/span&gt;, &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"&gt;Charly&lt;/span&gt; Garcia, António &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"&gt;Tarragó&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"&gt;Rós&lt;/span&gt;, Rodolfo &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8"&gt;Mederos&lt;/span&gt; e &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9"&gt;Ariel&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_10"&gt;Ramírez&lt;/span&gt;. &lt;span style=""&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Depois deste período de concertos no teatro Opera, Mercedes &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_11"&gt;Sosa&lt;/span&gt; regressa a Espanha onde estava radicada e a meio do ano regressa à América para apresentar o seu disco “&lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"&gt;Gente Humilde”&lt;/span&gt; e para realizar uma série de concertos nas principais cidades do Brasil.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Pouco tempo depois regressa definitivamente à Argentina.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Nesse mesmo ano -1983 – surge com o disco &lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Como um &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;" class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_12"&gt;pájaro&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;" class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_13"&gt;libre&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;”&lt;/span&gt;, um belíssimo trabalho que inclui temas de autores tradicionais e de outros mais jovens.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;A cantora continuou com as suas &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_14"&gt;tornés&lt;/span&gt; pelos mais diversos países do mundo actuando sempre em prestigiadas casa de espectáculos tais como &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_15"&gt;Lincolm&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_16"&gt;Center&lt;/span&gt;, Carnegie Hall nos estados Unidos e &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_17"&gt;El&lt;/span&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Em 1984 vivia-se a euforia da Democracia depois de uma dura Ditadura e de uma dura Guerra. Mercedes surge com o disco &lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Será &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;" class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_15"&gt;posible&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;" class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_16"&gt;el&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;" class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_17"&gt;sur&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;?”&lt;/span&gt; em que se misturam canções de esperança, os ritmos folclóricos e o canto latino americano.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;A 21 de Dezembro com Milton Nascimento e &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_18"&gt;León&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_19"&gt;Gieco&lt;/span&gt; participou num espectáculo denominado &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;“&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_20"&gt;Corazón&lt;/span&gt; Americano”&lt;/span&gt; que fez reunir um publico poucas vezes conseguido. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;1985 foi um ano duplamente importante, desde o ponto de vista discográfico, Mercedes deu uma vez mais o seu apoio aos compositores argentinos com &lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;“&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_21"&gt;Vego&lt;/span&gt; oferecer mi &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_22"&gt;corazón&lt;/span&gt;” &lt;/span&gt;em que regista canções &lt;span style=""&gt; &lt;/span&gt;lindíssimas como por exemplo as de Fito &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_23"&gt;Páez&lt;/span&gt; que lhe dá o titulo a este trabalho, mas também &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;“&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_24"&gt;Razón&lt;/span&gt; de &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_25"&gt;vivir&lt;/span&gt;”&lt;/span&gt; e &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Madre de Madres” &lt;/span&gt;de Victor &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_26"&gt;Heredia&lt;/span&gt;, “&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Entre a mi pago &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_27"&gt;sin&lt;/span&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Dos 25 concertos que deu no Brasil edita-se &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"&gt;“Mercedes &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_49"&gt;Sosa&lt;/span&gt; 86” &lt;/span&gt;que teve como artistas convidados o &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_50"&gt;bandoneonista&lt;/span&gt; Leopoldo &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_51"&gt;Federico&lt;/span&gt; e o grupo &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_52"&gt;Markama&lt;/span&gt;. Um disco onde predominam&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span  lang="ES" style="font-family:Arial;"&gt; os ritmos argentinos.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;No ano seguinte surge com o disco &lt;span style="font-style: italic; uma dezena de canções e em que contou com a presença de &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_55"&gt;Pablo&lt;/span&gt; Milanês, Teresa &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_56"&gt;Parodi&lt;/span&gt;, &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_57"&gt;Víctor&lt;/span&gt; Federal, Noruega, Suécia, Holanda, Estados Unidos, Porto Rico, República Dominicana e México. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;As actuações mais importantes foram sem dúvida em &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_63"&gt;Contcergebouw&lt;/span&gt;, de Amesterdão e no Carnegie Hall de Nova Iorque, onde a sua actuação foi aclamada com uma ovação de dez minutos.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Edita &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"&gt;“Amigos mios”&lt;/span&gt; uma compilação na qual participa Milton Nascimento&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Pablo Milanés, Teresa Parodi, Charly García, Fito Páez e Raimundo Fagner, entre outros. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Como produtora, Sosa organizou um dos espectáculos mais importantes alguma vez apresentados na Argentina: &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Sin Fronteras”&lt;/span&gt; que reuniu no estádio Luna Park de Buenos Aires sete cantoras latino americanas: as argentinas Teresa Parodi e Silvina Garre, a colombiana Leonor Gonzaléz Mina, a venezuelana Lilia Vera, a brasileira Beth Carvalho e a mexicana Amparo Ochoa, além da própria Mercedes.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Nos fins de Julho de 1989, “La negra” recebeu das mãos de Pierre Décamps, embaixador de França na Argentina a medalha de La Orden del Comendador de las Artes y las Letras atribuída pelo Ministério da Cultura da República Francesa. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Em 1990 surge com o disco &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"&gt;“Mercedes Sosa en vivo en Europa”.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Participou no filme &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Verano del potro”&lt;/span&gt;, interpretando o tema &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Siempre en ti”.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Actuou na Austrália, Grécia, Holanda, Alemanha, Luxemburgo, Suíça, França e Brasil além das indescritíveis noites no Luna Park com actores e um numeroso grupo de cantores convidados.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Em Dezembro terminou o ano com duas grandiosas actuações no Gran Rex, ainda dentro do ciclo &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Creativa 90”&lt;/span&gt;, também acompanhada por muitos músicos convidados.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Essas noites ficaram para a posteridade no trabalho &lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;“De mí”&lt;/span&gt;, trabalho que viu a luz do dia em Novembro do ano seguinte.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;A &lt;/span&gt;&lt;st1:date ls="trans" month="12" day="20" year="1991"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;20 de Dezembro de 1991&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/st1:date&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;, depois de 10 anos sem cantar num estádio aberto Mercedes Sosa reencontrou-se com o público em Ferro carril oeste acompanhada por Fito Páez, Julia Zenko, Nito Mestre, Piero, Celeste Carballo, los Illya Kuryaki, León Gieco, Charly García, Víctor Heredia, Mariano Mores, Facundo Ramírez, Horacio Molina, Coqui e Claudio Sosa e Hamlet Lima Quintana. 15.000 pessoas deliraram um pouco mais de duas horas e meia de espectáculo. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;A &lt;/span&gt;&lt;st1:date ls="trans" month="4" day="1" year="1992"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;1 de Abril de 1992&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/st1:date&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt; no Salón Dorado do Honorable Concejo Deliberante foi declarada cidadã ilustre da cidade de Buenos Aires. 1991 acabou por ser um ano importantíssimo para Mercedes, marcado pela sua viagem ao Chile onde cantou na Quinta Vergara, de Viña del Mar e no Estádio do Chile, de Santiago. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;" lang="ES"&gt;Foram três actuações carregadas de emoção.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;No principio de 1993 atravessou de novo os Andes para actuar no Festival Internacional da Viña del Mar, onde tantas vezes já tinha estado, foi anfitriã de um importante grupo de cantores argentinos tais como Julia Zenko, Víctor Heredia e Teresa Parodi e posteriormente actuou em várias outras cidades chilenas.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Também editou &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"&gt;“Sino” &lt;/span&gt;do qual partilhou a produção com Fito Páez e participou na banda sonora do filme “Convivência” cantando um tema com Pablo Milanês e Roberto Goyeneche (já desaparecido).&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Em Novembro desse ano edita uma compilação intitulada &lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Mercedes Sosa, 30 años”&lt;/span&gt;, que reuniu uma vintena de temas gravados pela La Negra em diversas épocas.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="text-align: justify;" class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Em meados do mês de Dezembro representou a voz da Argentina e América no Segundo Concerto de Natal realizado na Sala Neri no Estado do Vaticano. Foi a artista mais aplaudida desse espectáculo realizado para o Vaticano de Roma no qual participaram entre outros o tenor espanhol Alfredo Kraus e a soprano Renata Scotto.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="text-align: justify;" class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Uns dias antes, foi a solista da &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"&gt;“Misa Criolla”&lt;/span&gt; que se apresentou com um coro de quase 600 vozes no imponente Anfiteatro Frank Romero Day, na cidade de Mendoza e que foi visto por cerca de 30.000 espectadores.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="text-align: justify;" class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Em Janeiro de 1995 após participar no Festival Internacional de Mar del Plata interveio no filme &lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Americano”&lt;/span&gt; realizado em Mendoza.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="text-align: justify;" class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;A meio do ano, visitou o Chile, começando uma tournée que a levaria à Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, panamá e Uruguai.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="text-align: justify;" class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Em Agosto de desse ano, cerca de duas mil pessoas responderam à convocatória do ciclo &lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Maestros del Alma”&lt;/span&gt; para brindar com uma quente homenagem a Mercedes Sosa que nessa noite recebeu o testemunho do sempre crescente afecto do público e o canto dos seus companheiros Júlia Zenko, peteco Carabajal e Victor Herédia, entre vários outros.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;    &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 3.75pt 3.75pt 5pt; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Mais à frente, realizou uma tournée por várias cidades do Brasil, entre elas San Pablo,&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;Belo horizonte, Florianópolis e Porto Alegre.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 3.75pt 3.75pt 5pt; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Algum tempo depois fez duas estrondosas actuações em San Juan de Puerto Rico, que foram o inicio de uma extensa tournée pelos Estados Unidos realizada em Novembro de 1995 e que começou em Zellenbach Hall&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;-Cal Perfomance Arts Center de Berkeley, San Francisco.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 3.75pt 3.75pt 5pt; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Dois concertos consecutivos no Wadsworth Theater-UCLA de Los Angeles, Califórnia e apresentações no Bass Concert Hall, de Austin Texas; no Jackie Gleason Theater for the Perfoming Arts de Miami, Florida; no &lt;span style=""&gt; &lt;/span&gt;Kennedy Center for the Perfoming Arts, de Washington; no Avery Fisher Hall - Lincoln Center de New York; no Symphony Hall de Boston, Massachusetts e no Queen Elizabeth de Vancouver, e Columbia Británica.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 3.75pt 3.75pt 5pt; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Depois actuou em Lima e a seguir a esse outros dois concertos em La Paz na Bolívia.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 3.75pt 3.75pt 5pt; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Em Dezembro de 1995 editou &lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Mercedes Sosa-Oro”&lt;/span&gt; uma compilação de 17 temas, gravados entre 1969 e 1994. O reportório deste trabalho delineia nitidamente o perfil desta grande artista popular. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 3.75pt 3.75pt 5pt; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Num ano de muita actividade como o de 1995, não lhe faltou tempo para se rodear dos seus companheiros músicos. Solidária, não só preconiza a necessidade da união dos músicos argentinos como também é disso um exemplo. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 3.75pt 3.75pt 5pt; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Interveio com a sua voz nas gravações dos discos de Maria Graña, peteco Carabajal, Los Trovadores, Alejandro Dolina, Lito Vitale, Victor Heredia e Eduardo lagos. Também cantou ao vivo nas apresentações de teatro de Coquie Pajarín Saavedra, Victor Heredia, Liliana Herrero e Peteco Carabajal.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 3.75pt 3.75pt 5pt; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Nos primeiros meses realizou uma tournée que a levou a percorrer diversas províncias argentinas como Diamante (Entre Ríos); Villa María e Villa Allende (Córdoba), em Concepción (Chile), culminando no mês de Janeiro numa inesquecível noite de clausura do XXXVI Festival nacional de Folclore de Cosquin. Uma noite que até hoje perdura na memória dos muitos que vibraram com o canto daquela tucumana.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 3.75pt 3.75pt 5pt; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;A seguir a Cosquín seguiu-se, durante Fevereiro e Março concertos em Rosario (Santa Fe); Puán, Baradero e Mar del Plata (Provincia de Buenos Aires); Villa Carlos Paz e Leones (Córdoba); Tunuyán (Mendoza), Chilecito (La Rioja), Punta Arenas e Santiago (Chile). A tournée terminou com duas actuações em Asunción (Paraguai) com a presença do seu amigo Charly Garcia como artista convidado.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 3.75pt 3.75pt 5pt; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;No princípio de Abril voltou ao estúdios para gravar&lt;b&gt; "Escondido en mi país"&lt;/b&gt;, o seu novo disco com um reportório inteiramente folclórico e de grande repercussão entre o publico. Uns dias depois do seu trabalho estar terminado em Buenos Aires realizou um aclamado concerto nas Ilhas Canárias. Em meados do ano deu concertos no Brasil e mais à frente no Equador, Uruguai e em algumas cidades dos Estados Unidos e Canadá.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 3.75pt 3.75pt 5pt; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;No segundo semestre de 1996 fez uma apresentação no Opera de Buenos Aires dos temas do seu disco &lt;b&gt;"Escondido en mi país"&lt;/b&gt;. &lt;span style=""&gt; &lt;/span&gt;Cinco concertos, a sala cheia de um público entusiasmado por esse &lt;i&gt;"baño de folklore"&lt;/i&gt;, como disseram alguns críticos. Pouco depois realizou uma série de actuações pelos Estados Unidos, Canadá e Puerto Rico, onde a 20 de Outubro realizou um concerto memorável. Pouco depois dessa cansativa viagem começa a trabalhar no próximo CD que grava com temas de Charly García.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 3.75pt 3.75pt 5pt; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Iniciado o ano de 1997 participou no XXXVIIº Festival Nacional de Folklore de Cosquín, levando como convidado especial Charly García. Foi um verdadeiro acontecimento musical que marcou a história deste popular evento.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 3.75pt 3.75pt 5pt; font-style: italic;"&gt;“Buenos Aires Vivo” &lt;/span&gt;organizado pela Secretaria de Cultura da Cidade perante uma plateia de cerca de 120.000 espectadores com a participação de alguns artistas convidados entre os quais, novamente Charly Garcia e Chango Farias Gómez. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="color: red;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 3.75pt 3.75pt 5pt; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Em Março de 1997 participou do conclave internacional denominado &lt;b&gt;"Río + 5"&lt;/b&gt;,&lt;b&gt; &lt;/b&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;participou no&lt;b&gt; &lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;carácter de vice-presidente do Consejo de la Tierra em representação da América Latina com a finalidade de intervir na redacção da &lt;b&gt;"Carta de la Tierra"&lt;/b&gt;, um documento equivalente à Declaração Universal dos Direitos do Homem, com vista a definir um sistema operacional de valores que conduzam o nosso comportamento, as nossas relações e o nosso esforço para o desenvolvimento.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 3.75pt 3.75pt 5pt; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;A segui, Mercedes Sosa viajou para a cidade de Bogotá, na&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;Colombia, para intervir, junto com Charly García e Fito Paéz num &lt;span style=""&gt; &lt;/span&gt;espectáculo realizado no estádio &lt;span style=""&gt; &lt;/span&gt;El Campín.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 3.75pt 3.75pt 5pt; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;A 8 de Julho, vísperas do seu aniversário, canto una cidade de Salta e uma semana mais tarde, nos dias &lt;span style=""&gt;11, 12 , 13 e 15 de Julho&lt;/span&gt;, &lt;span style=""&gt; &lt;/span&gt;ofereceu quatro concertos no &lt;span style=""&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;TEATRO OPERA&lt;/b&gt;, de Buenos Aires, &lt;span style=""&gt; &lt;/span&gt;nos quais, para além das canções tipicamente folclóricas , interpretou temas novos e contou com a presença de varios artistas convidados como Víctor Heredia, Julia Zenko, Claudio Sosa, Horacio Molina, Coqui Sosa, Angela Irene, Pocho Sosa e a participação especial de Charly García.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt; font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Sino” &lt;/span&gt;e o Martín Fierro em 1994 pelo melhor espectáculo musical de televisão.&lt;br /&gt;Em 1995 Mercedes Sosa recebeu vários prémios e distinções. Entre eles, o Gran Premio CAMU-UNESCO 1995 entregue pelo Conselho Argentino da Música e pela Secretaria Regional para a América Latina e Caribe do Conselho Internacional da Música da UNESCO; o Prémio da UNIFEM, Organismo das Nações Unidas que a distinguiu pouco antes da sua actuação no Lincoln Center de Nova Iorque pelo seu trabalho na defesa pelos direitos da mulher; Konex de Platina em 1995 para a melhor cantora feminina de folclore e Konex de brilhante para a melhor artista popular da década.&lt;br /&gt;Também nesse ano recebeu com agrado por se ver incluída na Secretary-General United Nations Politic World Conference on Women, na colecção discográfica de nominada &lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Global Divas”&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;Este trabalho que incluiu &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Gracias a la vida”&lt;/span&gt; cantado por Mercedes Sosa, foi de distribuição internacional e reuniu algumas da vozes mais importantes do mundo de todos os tempos, entre elas contava-se Edith Piaff, Marlene Dietrich, Amalia Rodrigues, Lucha Reyes, Miriam Makeba, Celina González, Marian Anderson, Aretha Franklin, Elis Regina, Maria Bethânia e Gal Costa.&lt;br /&gt;Em Julho de 1996 em Porto Alegre, no Brasil, o Governo do estado do Rio Grande do Sul condecorou-a com a medalha Simões Lopes Neto em honra aos seus méritos artísticos e pessoais colocados ao serviço da unidade e dos povos.&lt;br /&gt;A 4 de Outubro de 1996 na cidade alemã de Aix-la-Chapelle, recebeu o prémio CIM UNESCO 1996 do Conselho Internacional da Música-UNESCO, com sede na cidade de Paris destinado a músicos de todo o mundo que se destaquem pessoal e profissionalmente.&lt;br /&gt;Este prémio, criado em 1975, é destinado a recompensar os músicos e instituições musicais que com as suas obras ou actividades tenha contibuido para o enriquecimento e desenvolvimento da música e servido a paz, a compreensão entre os povos, a cooperação internacional e outros fins proclamados pela Carta das Nações Unidas e pela acta Constitutiva da UNESCO.&lt;br /&gt;A cantora Mercedes Sosa, expressou na sua comunicação ao conselho Internacional da Música &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;"El Jurado ha decidido el otorgamiento de este Premio no sólo por su brillante carrera sino también en reconocimiento de sus grandes valores éticos y morales de los cuales ha dado prueba durante los sombríos años que conoció la Argentina, por la preocupación que ha tenido de promover constantemente la defensa de los derechos humanos".&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Uns dias antes, na Sede do Consulado Geral da República Argentina em Nova Iorque, Mercedes Sosa recebeu outra distinção, desta vez, do Conselho Interamericano de Musicada organização dos estados Americanos (OEA). Perante representantes de todos os países latino-americanos, recebeu o Diploma de Honra como reconhecimento pela trajectória da sua carreira.&lt;br /&gt;A 9 de Dezembro de 1996 no Congresso nacional o povo de todo o país, através dos seus legisladores, renderam-lhe uma homenagem na qualidade de “personalidade da cultura nacional, pela sua valiosa trajectória artística e defesa da música popular”.&lt;br /&gt;Naquela tarde, um grupo de músicos populares argentinos juntaram-se á iniciativa dos deputados e dando o melhor de cada um entre eles estavam: Peteco Carabajal, Verónica Condomí, Coqui, Claudio e Pocho Sosa, Liliana Vitale, Rodolfo Mederos, Federico de la Vega, Chango Farías Gómez, Víctor Heredia, León Gieco e Charly Garcia que interpretou a sua criativa versão do Hino Nacional Argentino criando um momento de profunda emoção não só a Mercedes Sosa e a todos os presentes como também a toda a gente que os ouvia através da rádio e televisão.&lt;br /&gt;No principio do mês de Março de 1997 recebeu pelo seu disco &lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Escondido em mi país” &lt;/span&gt;o prémio ACE (Asociación de Cronistas del Espectáculo) para o melhor disco de folclore.&lt;br /&gt;A pouco tempo do fim do milénio e totalmente recuperada da doença, Mercedes Sosa segue na sua actividade.&lt;br /&gt;Durante o ano de 1998 apresentou o novo trabalho “&lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;Al despertar”&lt;/span&gt; com grande repercussão. Este disco marcará o ponto de reencontro com as canções e sons da sua raiz folclórica.&lt;br /&gt;Em 1999 Mercedes faz-se de novo à estrada e actua na Argentina, México, Guatemala, El Salvador e outros países centro americanos.&lt;br /&gt;Em Julho desse ano acompanhou Charly Garcia no DF do México e, em Setembro e Outubro realizou concertos pela Inglaterra, Israel, Alemanha, Suíça, Áustria e Holanda.&lt;br /&gt;Pouco depois, no México, as autoridades máximas da UNICEF entregaram-lhe as credenciais que fizeram dela a Embaixadora da Boa Vontade da organização para a América Latina e Caribe.&lt;br /&gt;No ano de 2000 Mercedes finaliza um projecto há muito esperado: a interpretação e gravação de &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"&gt;“Misa Criolla”&lt;/span&gt; a obra de topo do folclore argentino. Mercedes confere a este trabalho uma profundidade e uma beleza sem igual. O mundo musical recebe esta criação com excelentes criticas e comentários. A transcendência deste trabalho chega ao plano internacional com uma força e com uma adesão que não é de estranhar o reconhecimento e os prémios que veio a arrecadar como por exemplo o importantíssimo Grammy latino, o maior prémio para a melhor interpretação de uma obra musical.&lt;br /&gt;No ano de 2001 Mercedes dá uma série de recitais no Teatro Gran Rex em Buenos Aires denominados &lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Acústico”&lt;/span&gt; obtendo uma vez mais enorme repercussão no meio artístico.&lt;br /&gt;Estes emotivos recitais deixaram para a posteridade um disco duplo com o mesmo nome do espectáculo &lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;“Acústico”&lt;/span&gt;.
